Call for Abstracts
People, Policy & Practice
The World Congress on Active Ageing (WCAA 2016) invites the submission of abstracts on original work for consideration within the Congress Program. Abstracts must be submitted under one of the three categories outlined below. Presentations should embody the conference theme of "People, Policy & Practice". Multi- and inter-disciplinary participation is encouraged.
WCAA congress presentations will take a number of forms:
Oral presentations on original research will allow 5 or 15 minutes for the presentation. Abstracts should be no more than 350 words in length and must follow the abstract template provided below.
The Congress will dedicate an allotted time for poster presentations with the opportunity for audience participation and enquiry. Abstracts should be no more than 350 words in length and must follow the abstract template provided below.
Symposia will last 90 minutes and include a maximum of 4 speakers. The co-ordinator of the symposium will act as the Chair, and can also be a speaker. All symposia must have either a discussant or speaker panel discussion. Each symposium must include speakers from at least 2 different research groups, with preference given to speakers from more than one country. Various forms of presentations are encouraged with panel discussions, audience participation and other variations welcomed. An abstract of no more than 350 words is requested for the symposium as a whole. An additional 150 word summary for each speaker is required. Abstracts for the overall symposium should state Purpose and Goals, and summarise content and implications for active ageing and must follow the abstract template provided below.
Symposium/s may be submitted for one of the following themes:
- Active Ageing and the Older-Old
- Behaviour Change and Correlates of Behaviour
- Policies and Guidelines
- Psychological Well-Being
- Sport, Exercise & Recreation
- Technology & Tele-Health
- The Environment
- Translation and dissemination
Submissions must follow the abstract template and be submitted online by 30 January 2016.
